Happy Flower Friday, friends! Our peonies bloomed

Happy Flower Friday, friends! Our peonies bloomed this week and they are so gorgeous! I’ve been sharing in my stories, but for this post I wanted to dive deep into the magical heart of a peony. It glitters like gold and reminds me of coral which reminds me of the beach which is where I’m headed next week! Yay!!!!

Keep an eye on my stories for more flowers and Gulf of Mexico beauty. I can’t wait to see beach views and share them with you. Even more than that, I’m excited to hang out with my @endgamepress family!

I had a blast at the pancake breakfast fundraiser

I had a blast at the pancake breakfast fundraiser for the Downsville Community Museum. It was a beautiful day, I sold several Howie books, and saw so many friends and neighbors. Such a great morning! I enjoyed meeting fellow Wisconsin author Debbi King. She’s so sweet! Of course I had to get a copy of her book, “Gravedigger’s Daughter: Growing Up Rural.” There is a lot of local history in this book and I can’t wait to read it!

Happy Flower Friday, friends! Today I’m celebrat

Happy Flower Friday, friends! Today I’m celebrating because I had a great physical therapy session and got to ditch the crutches. I’m healing well (and quickly) from a nasty ankle and knee sprain and I know it’s because so many of you are praying for me. Thank you! I even got permission to do stairs again. Yay!

I got home from PT and headed out to the gardens to take pictures of all the pretty things. I just love how our white irises sparkle in the sun. Our peonies are going to open any day now and I’m SO excited. Hopefully, you’ll get to see those next Flower Friday!

I’m reading through the Bible in two years with

I’m reading through the Bible in two years with @stop2read and it’s such a blessing! Today we read 1 Samuel 16, the anointing of David as king. This chapter includes one of my favorite verses and it was the verse we wrote out by hand today. What a great reminder that God doesn’t see as man sees. “For man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” Isn’t that good news? What’s in your heart, friends? How does God want to use you today?

Some dreams and callings take several years to grow into reality, decades even. Even though David was anointed as king, it would be many years before he actually became king in Israel. Years of serving King Saul, fighting Goliath, and even the times he was on the run for his life, all prepared David for his future as king.

The things we are going through today just might be the very things God is using to prepare us to accomplish the plans He has for us. What joy!
