Sunny Days

Do you love sunflowers as much as I do? They’re so happy and cheerful and have the power to brighten the dreariest day.

This week I’ve been struggling with my health. I’m detoxing a bunch of heavy metals and mold and it’s not pleasant in the least. In the midst of it all, I received a surprise invitation.

Chasing Butterflies

One of my favorite parts of summer is photographing the butterflies in my mom’s garden. She has so many gorgeous flowers and the butterflies love them. They flit and flutter from flower to flower, resting long enough for me to capture their beauty.

Or, they used to. Like everything else this year, the butterflies have been weird. There just aren’t that many of them, and the ones that are out there seem particularily jumpy. If I come anywhere near them they flutter away.

Finding Hope Through a Bingo Game

I’m honored to have a special guest on my blog today. I met Hope Bolinger through the Serious Writer Club and we’ve connected on Twitter. Don’t you just love social media sometimes? We’ve yet to meet in person so I look forward to the day when the world opens up again and I can meet Hope at a writers conference.

But I think many people have experienced that same feeling during the last couple of months. Many are still at home and not venturing out very much. We should have gotten so much done over the last few months, just look at all the time we had! But I’ve heard so many people say that they’re just tired.

Highs and Lows

I don’t know what the future holds, but I do know this. Sometimes the good, the bad, and the ugly happen in the same moment. Sometimes the highs and lows are intertwined. Sometimes our spirits soar while our bodies crash.

A Puppy and Her Pizzle

Sometimes God teaches me lessons in the strangest ways. Ruby Mae (a.k.a. The Scruffy Princess) has been loving online church. She gets to sit with us on the couch and cuddle while we watch church on my iPad.

But sometimes she gets bored and wants to play in the middle of church. That’s what happened this past week.

Climbing Mountains

Last week I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Whitney Ward for her Mountain Climbers series. … Today I would like to share our conversation with you. We talk about my journey with chronic illness and what I have learned. We also talk about how people who do not live with chronic illness can understand us a little better and how we all just need to be kinder to each other!
