The Unmasking of a Biker Chick

DSC_0477

This week’s Behind the Photo Friday post is a little different. We’re taking a different kind of behind the scenes look with a nano flash fiction story, a story under 100 words. It’s a challenge to say the least, but a fun one! The theme of this story is identity.

My bright green Harley rumbles to a stop and I can’t help but smirk at the surprised gazes of onlookers. I enjoy the anonymity found in the thick leather clothing and full-face helmet. Behind the darkened face shield I’m mysterious. (Click to tweet!)

A deep breath prepares me for the unmasking. Taking that helmet off makes me feel naked – exposed for who I really am, a slight female who feels larger than life, but looks like a mouse.

In one swift motion I pull off my mask and rake shaky fingers through flattened hair. Mask tucked under one arm, I head into church.

Can you write a short story in 100 words or less? If so, I’d love to read it! Post a link to your blog or write it in the comments below!

Until we meet again,

Josie
