You guys, I’m doing it! I’ve been putting off

You guys, I’m doing it! I’ve been putting off writing the first draft of my next picture book because it feels really hard. This is the second picture book I’m under contract for and the first seemed so magical and inspired. God literally dropped words into my brain when I couldn’t sleep. The edits were easy and the story is unique and fun with a powerful message. No pressure, right?!

If I’m being honest, I still don’t know how book two is going to develop. I have so many ideas, but I feel like I’m missing that spark of inspiration. It’s hard. Thankfully I have a new idea to pursue after my coaching call with @vduerstock. You all know she’s amazing, right?

My @seriouswriter mug is being put to good use this afternoon. I know I can’t edit what’s not on the page. I’ve always written even when I don’t know what to write and the words always come. So this afternoon my butt is in the chair and I’m knocking out a first draft. Even if the words aren’t great, it’s a start and it’s a victory to be celebrated!

There’s a sweet donkey named Hannah and it’s time the world heard her story. I have no doubt God will give me the words to write, even if it’s harder than last time.

Hiya! It’s been a while since I introduced mysel

Hiya! It’s been a while since I introduced myself here. I’m Josephine, and as much as I love my beautiful name, it’s a mouthful - so I go by Josie. My friends call me Jo which gives me all the Little Women vibes.

I live in the beautiful state of Wisconsin and I’m a small-town girl. Less than 200 people small. I love my little town and even though I’ve traveled the world, there’s no place like home.

I’m an 80’s girl and love the fact that tie-dye is back in style. May is my birthday month and I love to celebrate all month, especially this year since it’s a BIG one! 80’s girl, BIG birthday, you do the math. Yes, I know I don’t look that old. I’m sure I’ll appreciate looking so young after another 40 years. Oops, well, there you go, I’m going to be 40 this month!

Considering I shouldn’t be alive, living this long a huge accomplishment, though I had little to do with it. God is so good! He’s taught me a lot through chronic illness, but one of the biggest lessons is finding joy in the midst of the difficult circumstances of life. True joy is found in Jesus, who has promised to never leave us or forsake us, so I know that as long as I look to Jesus it’s possible for joy to fill my heart - no matter how hard things get here on earth.

So what does God have for me here? I’m a writer and photographer. My debut picture book, “Howie’s Broken Hee-Haw,” releases next spring with End Game Press and I’m working on a second book. I can’t believe this is my life and I can’t wait to share these books with the world!

I’m thrilled spring is here and I’m busy taking photos of flowers and birds and all things fresh and beautiful.

One last thing about me, I ride a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and I think my health might just play along this year and let me ride. I’m so excited to break The Green Beast out of the garage and take him for a spin this summer!
