The beans have officially been spilled. 🎉 I signed a contract with @endgamepress for not one, but two picture books! They will both come out next year. “Howie’s Broken Hee-Haw” is the first and it’s scheduled for a February 2022 release.

I’m still having a hard time believing this is a reality and I feel a little like a kid at Christmas. I know some of you are thinking, but that’s so far away! It is, but it will be here before we know it and honestly, I’m thrilled it’s happening so quickly. Many publishers are contracting out to 2023 and 2024 right now. The pandemic has pushed everything back and less book contracts are being offered.

The fact that I was offered a contract with a release for next year is truly a miracle! I’ve always said God’s timing is perfect (even when it’s SO hard to wait). The odds of being published anytime soon were slim to none, but I held onto the belief that circumstances cannot thwart God’s plan for my life. This is a belief I have held onto through years of chronic illness and it’s one I’m not giving up any time soon!

My journey has been one of baby steps forward, walking in obedience to what I feel God calling me to do, learning and growing, never giving up, and expecting God to do great things. There is such freedom in knowing that God is the one who works for our good and His glory. He is the one who gives good gifts at just the right time. He is the one who makes a way when it seems like there is no way.

If you have a dream, chase it! Don’t give up. Keep trying, keep learning, and know that when God says it’s time nothing can stop Him. His gifts are good and when the blessing comes, it’s often far better than we ever dreamed!

There are a few phrases that irk me to no end. Truthfully, they ignite righteous anger in me because they’re so hurtful. One of those phrases is, “You just need to have more faith.” The implied meaning is that if I had more faith all my problems would magically go away. I did NOT feel like exercising today. I didn’t f

I did NOT feel like exercising today. I didn’t feel well all morning, but Mom and I decided we had to go even if we didn’t feel well. We worked hard for 30 minutes and even though I’m still tired and now extra sore, part of me feels better. I had to make some adjustments today, but I did it and I’m proud of myself- and Mom!

Bonus, I got a phone call after that my new glasses were ready to pick up. I love them! Now I get to eat pizza with friends and then crash for three days!

Chronic illness is a constant battle of testing our limits and working toward health. Sometimes we fail, but sometimes we do hard things and come out on the other side victorious. Don’t give up. Keep fighting. You’re worth it!

I have to do a little work today, but then I get to start reading “Lethal Intent” by @cara.putman_author. I won a @footnoteswithjaimejo contest and get a free new release sent to me each month this whole year. Amazing! Cara’s book is the January prize and I can’t wait to take it off my shelf and start reading. I love her writing! This is giving me motivation to write fast today. Thank you, @jaimejowright!
