The Green Beast

The Green Beast

In honor of St. Patrick’s Day I thought I would share with you one of my favorite green things. Meet The Green Beast, my 2009 Harley Davidson Nightster. Isn’t he a beaut?!

I took this photograph one warm August afternoon several years back. When I look it I can still feel the hot sun beating down on my head as I tried to get the perfect angle and keep my reflection out of the shiny chrome.

The backdrop is my grandpa’s old shed. I’ve always loved this shed; it’s old and quirky and makes the perfect backdrop for photographs. It’s still standing, for now.

The Green Beast was a shiny black. Black is fine, especially for a motorcycle. It seems appropriate – but not for me. If you haven’t noticed by now, I love color. I especially love the color green. I’m convinced it’s God’s favorite color too!

I have a very talented big brother who made this fantastic bike my own. He painted it electric lime green, with tangerine orange flames across the fenders and gas tank. It shines and sparkles with every glint of sunshine.

I might be slightly biased, but I’m pretty sure it’s the coolest bike on the planet! Today just so happens to be my brother’s birthday (Happy Birthday, Ike!) so it’s the perfect day to share his beautiful green creation with you.

I can’t wait to get out on the open road this summer. My health and life circumstances didn’t allow me to ride at all last year, which was slightly traumatic. This biker chick is ready to get back out there and enjoy the beauty of God’s creation, the adventure of the open road, and 1200cc’s of power!

And that, my friends, is how I captured The Green Beast. (Click to Tweet!)

Until next time,

Josie
