The Carefree Path

The Carefree Path

Our first vacation adventure in Arizona was a day trip to the quaint town of Carefree. I loved this little town and we had a wonderful day there. Rumor has it that the town started as a nudist colony. If that’s true, the name of the town is well suited!

Fully clothed, we did some shopping, visiting unique art galleries and shops. We had lunch at an outdoor cafe and took photos of fun fountains, statues, and cacti. We stood on the corner of Easy Street and Ho Hum Road and soaked in the warm sun.

But before all of that, we stopped to photograph the Boulders. This is exactly what it sounds like, an area of huge rocks piled on top of each other. These large boulders were incredible and precarious. We weren’t quite sure how they didn’t all tumble into the streets and onto the houses tucked in among them.

While photographing the boulders we found this cute little area in the middle of a small parking lot. To the left towered the boulders, to the right the parking lot, buildings, and lots of cacti. This small oasis in the midst of it all stood bright and inviting.

The ground was lined with a rocky path that led to nowhere, covered in fallen yellow petals from the vibrant yellow and green trees casting their shade. It was the perfect place for a quick photo-op and a wonderful start to a beautiful day.

And that, my friends, is the story of how I captured The Carefree Path. Click to Tweet!

Until we meet again,

Josie
