A Good Girl With A Harley Problem

Meet The Green Beast. He started out black, but thanks to my talented brother Ike Siler, he's an electric lime green with tangerine orange flames. Smokin' hot and one of a kind!

My favorite sticker reads, “Good Girl With A Harley Problem.” I love it because it couldn’t be more true! If you looked at me, you would never guess that I ride a modified 2009 Harley-Davidson 1200 Nightster.

I’m a 30-something-year-old who still gets mistaken for a high school student. I’m small, but my sense of adventure is enormous! I’ve traveled the world from Mexico to Morocco and several places in between.

Of all the places I’ve gone and things I’ve done absolutely nothing compares to riding motorcycle. There’s only one word that can come close to describing it: FREEDOM! There’s nothing like the feeling of rolling the throttle and accelerating on the open road with nothing but the sound of power in your ears.

“Really Josie? You?” Absolutely! Who said good girls can’t ride motorcycles? Click to Tweet I love Jesus, I work at my church, I help run a ministry, I write, I take beautiful pictures, and yes, I roll my own (Harley speak for riding your own bike, not, well, rolling something else).

I  might be small, but luckily for me Harley-Davidson built a bike that’s just my size. It’s a beautiful bike. Purchased at Al Muth Harley-Davidson in Black River Falls, WI, it’s been custom-built just for me. The guys at Al Muth’s take great care of me and my bike. It’s taken a lot of work to get it just right, but now when I’m having a “good day” I can ride with little pain.

Living with chronic illness really cuts down on the days I can ride. Unfortunately they’re few and far between. It takes a lot of mental clarity to ride a motorcycle safely. Between that and physical pain, riding can be a challenge. However, that doesn’t make me any less of a biker chick!

Once you’re a biker, you’re always a biker. You see, it’s a mentality, a state of mind. It’s having an adventurous spirit and a thirst for freedom.

You may not be a biker…yet…but if you have an adventurous spirit and a thirst for freedom you are well on your way to becoming one! The open road is calling your name…

Until we meet again,

Josie

Always remember Josie…only motorcyclists know why a dog likes to hang his head out the window of a car…
